Slight Changes at chizmosa lounge

It’s been a quite a while since we have last posted here at chizmosa lounge, it’s true we’re currently battling our free time against with our baby time and I think it’s a losing battle, lol.  We have never expected that having a baby is this challenging, since we have decided to do it manually..meaning without a yaya.  Therefore this formula applies to us:

FREE TIME = BABY TIME

If you’re asking why, well it’s not just the budget, but, because we want to pour all the love that we can with our baby.

So what are the chizmosa lounge slight changes? Since our writer Jen is really really really busy (over exaggerated? Not really…) posting an article is not yet feasible at this time, so we’re left to no choice but for Vhincent to write the articles (Yahh)? So please bear with me, writing is not really my forte. I almost had a 5 in English 101 hehe But give me numbers, equations problem solving I’ll be happy to help you.

One last thing new articles by Vhincent will be much shorter compared to writings by Jen but surely content will still be at its best and still be filled with the latest showbiz news.

We’re back on track!

Whew! It’s been such a long while folks since I get to touch my loptop, surf the net, visit my friendster account and most especially, check our site, chizmosa lounge! I must admit that I really missed a lot of showbiz happenings around the globe since September 11, because unexpectedly by that time, it was the start of my BIG DAY!  I want to share with you guys some of my most memorable, painful and happiest experience during my labor and after I gave birth to our very first baby girl named Jarra Arden.

It was my husband’s birthday last September 11, I was actually planning to cook for him a recipe which I’ve learned from a cooking show on tv, “Quickfire” a ten minute kitchen wonders which was hosted by a great chef mom named Rosebud Benitez (I’m really not into cooking, but for the sake of my husband’s cravings for extra ordinary dishes, I have to learn it one step at a time!).  All the ingredients for my recipe were already been prepared that Thursday morning, my husband did not go to work for us to celebrate his day.  At 3PM, I decided to have a walking exercise just around the corners of the house when suddenly, I’ve felt something was gushing inside me. I’ve checked it and found I was already having a reddish discharge so I immediately told my husband about it and decided to go to my OB right away then. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the maternity hospital, we’ve found out that my OB was on a vacation in Thailand and that is scheduled to return on Saturday so I have to be checked by the other OB assigned by that time. When the OB checked me up, (she did the “IE” thing on my vagina that was definitely so very painful! That’s one of the most painful thing that I’ve ever experienced during my labor OMG! I will never ever forget it.) She found out that my cervix was already dilated into 1cm. She then told us that it was the start of my first stage of labor. Since the hospital is just a 15 minute drive from our house, the OB advised me to go home first because it will take long hours before I reach the real labor stage. On Friday morning, my hips were consistently aching and I was experiencing a lot of Braxton Hicks, (that is “hilab” in our term) my husband again rushed me into the hospital. The OB checked me up doing the “IE” thing again (huhu…) and said that my cervix were still on 1cm stage. My mom and my husband got really worried when they heard that because 15 hours had already passed since I started my first stage of labor and still, the dilation process was the same. The OB then told me that I have to be admitted in the hospital and since my cervix was slowly dilating, they have to inject a drug that could help fasten the dilation of my cervix. They injected it 4x during my labor stage, but after 48 hours of waiting, my cervix just dilated into 4cm.

On Saturday afternoon of September 13, my OB finally arrived and immediately checked me and decided to send me to the emergency room. She then told me and my husband that if in 2 hours time and my cervix will not continuously dilate, the last resort will be the one that I’m not expecting to happen and that is I have to undergo a Caesarian operation. 2 hours had passed and the OB was indeed right on what she said, my cervix had stopped dilating and by that time, I had no choice but to face my fear.

The operation lasted for about 30 minutes and it was indeed a very successful one. I got to see God’s perfect masterpiece, heaven’s gift and a very beautiful creation of our Lord, my very first baby that we named Jarra Arden which I’ve got from the internet. Jarra which is an Australian boy name meaning “eucalyptus tree” and Arden which is an American boy name meaning “eagle valley”.

I’ve posted some of her photos here and I hope you’ll get to enjoy it as much as we do. We also apologize for the long wait for this. Anyway, thanks for all your prayers, we really do appreciate it. Enjoy the photos of our very first angel!

Um koi sai!!!!

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 “Scholars Sing Cayabyab” compilation album

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 headmaster’s list of ten finally released their very first album entitled, “Scholars Sing Cayabyab”.  The compilation album of the one and only maestro, Ryan Cayabyab contains ten beautiful tracks sung by the top ten scholars of the academy.

The debut album of the Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 top ten scholars was formally released last Saturday during the last gala night of the final six at the PDA concert hall. Out of my curiosity, after they’ve launched the album, I’ve grabbed a personal copy of it just to know if they really had the potentials of becoming an artist. Surprisingly, I enjoyed most of the songs included in the album.

The “Cebu Heartthrob”, Van Pojas had his own rendition of “Another Goodbye Song” which featured Van’s capacity to hit the high notes in his own smooth and easy way. The song tells about saying goodbye to someone but you’re not yet prepared to let go. It was indeed a very sad song to listen to but I guess, the song would be a hit for those who can relate with the lyrics. Another scholar who made a great rendition to one of Mr. C’s wonderful creation was Laarni Losala. The “Independent Woman” of Sultan Kudarat sang, “Manalig Ka” which showcased her versatility as a singer. Her vocal prowess was definitely amazing that you can consider her as the one and only great belter among the other scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. I will not be surprised if one day, Laarni will be lined up as one of the great belters in the music industry.  The”Farmer’s Son” of Camarines Sur, Jay “Bugoy” Bugayon likewise made a very impressive and exceptional rendition of Mr. C’s “Paano na Kaya?” Bugoy just proved how great his voice is with the way he delivered the song. The arrangement of the piece was really nice and the melody was definitely catchy. I’m pretty sure that this will be one of the most requested songs over the radio and will possibly be a chart topping hit.

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Scholars Sing Cayabyab

The consistent star scholar of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, Liezel Garcia on the other hand did quite well with her rendition of “I’d Rather”, another Ryan Cayabyab’s composition. It was an R&B type of song that matches the voice quality of the “Pride of Puerto Galera”.  Liezel was still able to give justice to the song but I was still expecting more of her vocal gymnastics within the entire arrangement which was really her forte.  Expelled scholar, Hansen Nichols was a revelation with his song, “Wala kang katulad” which was first sang by Ariel Rivera during the 90’s era. The song really suits the voice of the “Cancer Survivor” and for that, I’m going to give him a rate of 8 out of 10. (Not bad at all in fairness!) Another expelled scholar, Bunny Malunda made a very nice interpretation for the song “Narito Lang Ako”. The “Teacher Wife” from Negros Oriental gave her full effort just to put wonderful melody to the song. Although, it was still obvious that she really can’t hit the high notes using her natural voice, I was still impressed on how she delivered it nicely with falsetto.

Other scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 which was included in the compilation album were Chris Pastor who sang, “Bakit Ganyan?” (It’s actually like a bossa nova type of song), “Ganun Ba?”  By Inaki Salvador, “Limang Dipang Tao” by Apple Abarquez, and “Hero” by Miguel Mendoza. The Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 “Scholars Sing Cayabyab” compilation album is already out in the market so grab your own copy now!

Ruffa Gutierrez scolded Riza Santos during “I Love Betty La Fea” taping

Like mother, like daughter?  That’s what the public sees on Ruffa Gutierrez after scolding Riza Santos during one of their taping nights of the new romantic comedy series of ABS-CBN, “I Love Betty La Fea” which stars Bea Alonzo as Beatriz Pinzon Solano and John Lloyd Cruz as Armando Solis.

According to monster moms’ only daughter, Ruffa Gutierrez who made her statement last Sunday in “The Buzz” hosted by Boy Abunda, Cristy Fermin and herself, the Fil-Canadian beauty queen and ex-Pinoy Big Brother celebrity edition housemate, Riza Santos came very late to the set of the said primetime series which aired its pilot episode last night, August 08. According to Ruffa, “Last ekesena ko na ‘yun, So gusto ko na talaga umuwi kasi I wasn’t feeling that well, at saka siyempre, gusto ko naman makasama sina Lorin and Venice (her two daughters from former husband, Ylmas Bektas) kaya parang excited na din ako umuwi kasi kokonti lang ‘yung mga eksena ko for that day.”

Ruffa Gutierrez Pics

Ruffa Gutierrez also added that the call time given to the Fil-Canadian Riza Santos who now turned as a full time actress was 7:00 PM but unfortunately, the sexy pinay celebrity showed up at around 11:00 PM. Cast and crews who have waited Riza for merely 4 hours that night got more intimidated when Riza did not even bother to greet them even the director of the show when she arrived in the set.  “Ayoko na sana palakihin ‘to pero ang sakin lang naman, you know, sana just say ‘hi’ naman to your co-stars, say ‘hi’ to your director, mga kasamahan mo. Kasi ‘yun ang itinuro saakin ng mga magulang ko e, na kailangan lahat ng mga senior stars, lahat ng mga kasamahan mo sa showbiz, kailangan batiin mo para pakikisama.”  Ruffa explained.

Annable Rama’s daughter also pointed out that the lead stars of the series, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz never came late from each and every taping day of “I Love Betty La Fea”.  She even praised the two young stars for their professionalism, humbleness and kindness by giving courtesy to all of the cast and crews even though they are already considered as superstars.  Ruffa Gutierrez insists that Riza Santos should have even offered an explanation and apology for the delays she had caused for the entire production. Still controlling her temper, Ruffa observed for at least an hour after Riza had finished her scene waiting for the Fil-Canadian beauty queen to explain her side but surprisingly, Riza still managed to ignore the whole incident. “I stood up, I said, Okay, bye everyone, bye!” Ruffa then turned around to the face of Riza Santos telling her, “You know Riza, next time, don’t make anyone wait, if you wanna’ make it in this business, be professional!” Ruffa said in a grouchy way.  Ruffa left the set while Riza Santos still managed to be speechless after hearing Ruffa’s advices.

Riza Santos Pics

According to VIVA, the company which manages Riza’s career, it was just a case of miscommunication between them and the whole production team. Riza just arrived that night from Macau for some work engagements. They also defended her from the statement of Ruffa Gutierrez about the tardiness of the sexy pinay celebrity. They said that Riza Santos was never informed about her call time for the said taping of “I Love Betty La Fea”.

After fainting from their reunion concert last August 30, Eraserheads former lead singer Ely Buendia was reportedly discharged from the Philippine Heart Center last Saturday, September 06 after undergoing his third angioplasty operation.

Unlike to the news that had spread out before that Ely Buendia did not undergo angioplasty, his manager, Day Cabuhat  later on confirmed that the Pupil’s present vocalist did undergo the delicate procedure to clear out his blocked arteries. According to Cabuhat, the former Eraserheads frontman is now fully recovering after being discharged from the hospital but still needs to undergo cardiac rehabilitation. “Ely is now resting to regain his strength.” says Cabuhat. She also told the public that Ely’s newly operated blood vessels were 100 percent fully restored. Diane Ventura, wife of Ely issued her statement that Ely Buendia is definitely in a more stable condition right now so there’s nothing to worry about him. Ventura also extended her apologies to the thousands of fans who attended to the Eraserheads reunion concert last August 30. She thanked the people for understanding the condition of her husband. “First of all, I’d like to thank the fans for understanding the situation. Hopefully Ely can make it up to you guys. Sorry sa nangyari, it can’t ‘be helped. I’m sure they understand the situation and we’re happy that they do.” Diane said.

As we remember, Ely Buendia had underwent the same procedure twice last 2007 after having a heart attack during their performance in an out of town gig in Laguna with his band, Pupil and successfully recovered months after.

Former bandmates of Ely Buendia, bassist Buddy Zabala together with drummer, Raymund Marasigan and lead guitarist, Marcus Adoro showed their full support to their ex-bandmate by visiting Ely while he was still confined in the hospital. They even asked for prayers to all the avid fans of Eraserheads and also hinted at holding a possible repeat of the reunion concert pretty soon.

According to his wife Diane, Ely was already suffering from emotional and physical stress weeks before the concert but being professional and a strong person, Ely Buendia still decided to pursue the reunion concert for the sake of his family. After being discharged from the hospital, Ely Buendia visited the wake of his mother, Lizette Buendia who died two days before the Eraserheads reunion concert in the Fort, Taguig City.

Last Saturday, the top six scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 finally showed up their very best as they conducted their last gala performance night at the PDA concert hall. The show was entitled, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 “Dream BIG gayan Concert for a Cause.”

The concert was indeed a great success as the top six scholars Miguel Mendoza, Van Pojas, Chris Pastor, Liezel Garcia, Laarni Losala and Jay “Bugoy” Bugayon performed so well with their own renditions of the songs which their mentors personally chose just for them. Aside from their family, the top six scholars’ fans, friends and supporters gathered altogether inside the PDA concert hall just to show their full support and love for their own bets in the competition. The audience paid an entrance fee of 100 Pesos each which the total amount of it will all be donated equally to the charitable institutions chosen by the scholars. Before the concert ended up, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 host, Toni Gonzaga announces that they had earned a total amount of 226, 400 Pesos within that night.

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Scholar Van Pojas

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 resident juror, Louie Ocampo and guest judge Kathleen Dy Go, (A record label executive) were all amazed with the top six scholars’ performances. Harsh words and negative feedbacks were all not present from last nights’ gala of the scholars which was a good sign that they truly gave their best interpretations onstage. Puerto Galera’s pride, Liezel Garcia proudly performed “PleaseDon’t Stop the Music”, a Rihanna’s dance hit that satisfies Kathleen Dy Go’s personal taste and even commented that Liezel definitely carries an international appeal. Bugoy on the other hand, showed his full energy as a real performer as he sang, “All I Need is you” by Guy Sebastian wherein the audience inside the concert hall really enjoyed his dancing style by swaying his waist upside down. Other Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 scholars who showed their magnificent performances last night were Laarni Losala who sang, “Waray Waray” wherein the “Independent Woman” from Sultan Kudarat amazingly sings with much self confidence and a well-choreographed dance steps. Miguel Mendoza revealed his other side as a performer when he sang, “Rock DJ” where the “Romantic Crooner” did some of his rapping technique that matches his dance moves. Chris Pastor once again sizzled the night as she performed Pussy Cat Doll’s “Sway” that made the “Singing Interior Designer” more alluring to the audience. The “Heartthrob” from Cebu, Van Pojas, who made the audience groove with his version of 98 degrees’ “True to your heart”, indeed registered well on screen with his good looks.

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Scholar Bugoy

Chizmosa Lounge break from gossips: Let’s talk about vanity!

This commercial break is brought to us by one of the most active bloggers in the web! None other than Sonnet’s Haven and Salve! Of course, we cannot say no to their invitation (yahoo!) they’ve passed this tag on us asking to write something about make-up. And fortunately, I was assigned to answer the whole thing on my own! (Of course I’ll be the one to be responsible for this, my husband only knows how to develop programs in the web! Haha…)

strawberry lip gloss by the body shop

Well, when I was in my college years, I was never interested in putting colors on my face even though I’m into arts then. My concern is all about my skin, more on the “lotion” aspect. Until when I graduated and started to work professionally, I then managed to put some “blush” on my cheeks and a little of the “face powder” effect which I’ve learned from a friend. Years after, I’ve got more interested with make ups and I’ve even got vain with my hair. I really had this addiction of maintaining my hair into good shape by regularly visiting my favorite salon (one of the hairstylist became my friend and he was also the one who’ve done my hairstyle and make up on my wedding day.) A year again had passed when I’ve got the opportunity to work in a newly built six star hotel in Macau, where I was assigned to work in the casino section. That was the time when I’ve learned a lot on how to put proper make up on my face. The management really inspects our face before we go to work and face the guests each day. I must admit that I got really hooked on buying make ups and other vanity products in Macau, China and Hong Kong. I really enjoyed shopping for those items like liquid eyeliners, lip gloss, lipsticks, blush, bronzers, glitter eye shadows and a lot more! I’ve also proved that Chinese are really much vain and artistic when it comes to their skin and face because there were a lot of cosmetic stores with a variety of unique products scattered in Macau! (Makes me missed the place so much…)

I am now passing this tag to kwentong barbero, a tsinay blog, mumusakanto and prinsesa musang

Angelica Panganiban expressed her ill feelings with the press

Kapamilya homegrown talent, Angelica Panganiban admits her ill feelings and how hurt she was by the way the press treated her before during the press conference of the primetime soap opera, “Iisa Pa Lamang” where Angelica got too emotional when she was asked by the press about the status of her relationship with real life boyfriend, actor and commercial model Derek Ramsay.

Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay Pics

The sexy pinay celebrity, who is one of the most in demand and favorite cover girl of every men’s magazine was interviewed before by the press people when ABS-CBN held it’s press conference for the primetime drama, “Iisa Pa Lamang” which stars, Claudinne Baretto, Diether Ocampo, Gabby Concepcion and Angelica Panganiban who acts as a ‘classy’ antagonist in the said soap. When the press asked Angelica about her relationship with her boyfriend Derek, the pinay celebrity got too hesitant to answer the question promptly and instead, Angelica tried to avoid the said question thrown to her. But after a few seconds, Angelica emotionally replied that she and Derek were fixing some extrication between them. Right after her short reply, Angelica slowly exits the place to get rid the attention of the press people on her. On the other hand, when Derek Ramsay was interviewed days after, the hunk actor/commercial model denied the issue about the problems between him and girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban which started the press to wonder and even accused the sexy pinay celebrity that she was just making some noise for the publicity of the soap, “Iisa Pa Lamang”.

“I can say that we badly need that moment for us” says Angelica on her recent interview after her long silence since the press conference. She also said that whatever she and Derek had experienced that time, it really made their relationship stronger and more stable. Agelica Panganiban was then asked if she has any ill feelings with the press after all the allegations thrown upon her during those times when she was emotionally stressed with the write-ups. Angelica immediately answered, “I don’t have the right to get sulked because that’s your work. As for me, I just hope that they should know first their limitations, what they should tell to the public. Because for me, everything should have boundaries, maybe they were already over the borderline of work and friendship. I’m not a person whose’ hard to talk to, but I much prefer to be friends with everyone instead of being workmates.”

Angelica Panganiban Pics

Angelica Panganiban also admitted that she got really hurt with all of the negative issues and the accusations of the press while she and Derek were still fixing things with their relationship. She told them that they should’ve at least gave them both privacy instead of writing negative feedbacks about it.

Angelica expressed how dismayed she was after realizing that those people whom she considers as good friends in the industry for a long time was the same people who are not worthy of her trust. The sexy pinay celebrity now knows those people who are worthy to be called as ‘real’ friends for proving their undying love support with the relationship of Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban.
