Unlike to the news that had spread out before that Ely Buendia did not undergo angioplasty, his manager, Day Cabuhat  later on confirmed that the Pupil’s present vocalist did undergo the delicate procedure to clear out his blocked arteries. According to Cabuhat, the former Eraserheads frontman is now fully recovering after being discharged from the hospital but still needs to undergo cardiac rehabilitation. “Ely is now resting to regain his strength.” says Cabuhat. She also told the public that Ely’s newly operated blood vessels were 100 percent fully restored. Diane Ventura, wife of Ely issued her statement that Ely Buendia is definitely in a more stable condition right now so there’s nothing to worry about him. Ventura also extended her apologies to the thousands of fans who attended to the Eraserheads reunion concert last August 30. She thanked the people for understanding the condition of her husband. “First of all, I’d like to thank the fans for understanding the situation. Hopefully Ely can make it up to you guys. Sorry sa nangyari, it can’t ‘be helped. I’m sure they understand the situation and we’re happy that they do.” Diane said.

As we remember, Ely Buendia had underwent the same procedure twice last 2007 after having a heart attack during their performance in an out of town gig in Laguna with his band, Pupil and successfully recovered months after.

Former bandmates of Ely Buendia, bassist Buddy Zabala together with drummer, Raymund Marasigan and lead guitarist, Marcus Adoro showed their full support to their ex-bandmate by visiting Ely while he was still confined in the hospital. They even asked for prayers to all the avid fans of Eraserheads and also hinted at holding a possible repeat of the reunion concert pretty soon.
