Glaiza De Castro from Villain to Lead Role

Looks like Glaiza De Castro level-up a notch on her career as she will now portray a Lead role on GMA-7’s upcoming “telefantasya” Grazilda. Glaiza has been known for being a villain or a great detractor from other lead stars, she was Gladys from “Kung lahat ay aagawin sakin”, Eunice in “Stairway to Heaven” and Tiffany from the “Kanta Serye” Diva.

But can Glaiza De Castro be an effective lead cast as she was an effective detractor as expected by the Kapuso Network GMA-7? Most probably we have to wait and see until the new “telefantasya” starts. As for the Moment Glaiza is thankful and still can’t believe the network for giving her the chance.

Grazilda has a 19^th century setting and Geoff Eigenmann will portray as her modern leading man. With the two working now together wouldn’t their closeness be a problem with the real-life lover’s Geoff and Carla Abellana?

Carla Abellana vs Marian Rivera

Every time the face of Carla Abellana is seen on TV or any ads she is compared to another pinay celebrity who looks like just her. One of the most common look alike is none other than our Kapuso star Marian Rivera. Just a glimpse of Carla Abellana you would already say she looks like Marian Rivera, true they have similarities most especially in beauty but they are totally different when it comes into character and acting craftsmanship. According to some tabloids they have labeled Marian Rivera as “beauting Malandi” while Carla Abellana as “Mukhang Sosyal”, would you agree?

We’ll be seeing Carla’s acting starting this Monday July 6, 2009 as the Remake of Mexican telenobela “Rosalinda” will aired on Kapuso Network GMA-7 primetime with Geoff Eigenmann as her leading man Fernando Jose. Both Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann has the lineage of acting, Carla is the daughter of actor Rey “PJ” Abellana and granddaughter of veteran actress Delia Razon while Geoff is the son of Gina Alajar and Michael De Mesa and grandson of Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil.

Next time you see Carla Abellana you would probably say, yes she does look like Marian Rivera but how about in acting? Given the chance Carla would surely improve her acting skills overtime, like how Marian started as Marimar then Dyesebel, Proserpina and now as “Darna”.

GMA-7’s Mexican telenobela “Rosalinda” remake will be portrayed by new comer Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, as her leading man Fernando Jose. Katrina Halilil will be joining them as the antagonist Fedra.

In a recent interview of GMA-7 news with Geoff Eigenman and Carla Abellana, they have both admitted that they do have a type on each other . The first time they met was during their acting workshop for their telenobela “Rosalinda”. “The very first time I saw her ahh actually yun nga everything around me stop ahh tulala lang ako and yun nga on my way to meet her natisod pa ako and all that so it really happens, it says a lot”, Geoff Eigenmann describes their first meeting. Geoff vocally expresses that Carla is more than her “type”, she is actually perfect. On the other hand Carla also describes Geoff as a person who has a very pleasing personality and a true gentleman.

Now that they are already taping for several weeks Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann are getting closer and more at ease working together. Would this love teams became lover’s or is it just all publicity?
