Eraserheads reunion concert pushes through
The well-loved OPM rock band of all time, the Eraserheads reunion concert still pushes through tomorrow, August 30, at the open air venue of The Fort, Taguig City despite of all the rumors that had spread out days ago due to some difficulties involving the major sponsor of the one night event that alarmed thousands of fans of the legendary band.
Phillip Morris’ was supposed to be the major sponsor of the Eraserheads reunion concert this coming Saturday, but unfortunately, the giant tobacco company had to pulled out their involvement with the said concert due to some legal matters that they’ve been facing. The Department of Health cited that if Phillip Morris’ will continue to push through the sponsorship with the reunion concert, they will have no choice but to take some legal actions against the company. In a press conference made by the health undersecretary Alexander Padilla, he explained the reason why they warned the company that they might not get a permit from the authorities if they will continue to sponsor the event. He cited that according to the Republic Act No. 9211 known as the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003, where the law strictly prohibits any involvement of all tobacco companies to sponsor any cultural and artistic events or sports of performers, artists and individual or team athletes. Upon hearing the said threats from DOH, Phillip Morris’ immediately responded to the warning and looked for another potential sponsor for the reunion concert to be possible.
Fortunately, another party saved the much anticipated Eraserheads reunion concert and it was Radiohead Media Solutions Inc. the company formally announced their sponsorship with the event in cooperation with Sony-BMG Music Entertainment, former home label of Eraserheads. Now, the bad news on this part is that the concert is no longer for free unlike before when it was still under the sponsorship of Phillip Morris’, fans will just have to log-in on red nation site and wait for their confirmation. On the other hand, Raymund Marasigan, drummer of the Eraserheads announces the good news to the fans that they will now allow children from 12 years of age. He also informed the public that the ticket price ranges from P800 for the General Admission and P1, 300 for Patron.
Eraserheads was a prominent OPM band of the 90’s who made history in the Philippine music industry for their critically-acclaimed hits, Ang Huling El Bimbo, Pare ko, Toyang, With a Smile, Alapaap and a lot more. The fab four composed of Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro disbanded in the year 2002 when the front man of the group, Ely texted his band mates with a word, “It’s graduation time!”
It’s going to be a historic and memorable one night event for all the fans who’ve waited them reunite for the past six years after parting their own ways. Catch the Eraserheads reunion concert as they reminisce their success of being one of Philippines’ band icon on Saturday, August 30, at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Tickets are available at Ticketworld 891-9999 while gates will be open in as early as 3:00 PM.

chizmosalounge meron daw bang mga featured guest of the night?

@prinsesa musang
wow, really?parang ikaw lag ata ang taong naringgan ko ng ganyang comment!hehe.. well, how young are you na ba? ang eheads kc ang isa sa mga tanging banda sa philippine history ng music ang nakasama bilang isa sa mga most influential bands of their time. matagal din ang tinagal ng bandang to,they were students from UP Diliman and started to form the band in the year 1989. they were the only band who started the alternative rock d2 sa pinas kaya sila ang dahilan kung bakit meron tayo ngayong Parokya ni Edgar, Rivermaya, Bamboo at napakarami pang iba. i was in grade 1 when they started the hype. naging very controversial ang ma kanta nila yet, pumatok pa din sa masa. they even issued their own magazine before, pillbox and fruitcake that me and my kuya were fond of reading it.sila din ang kauna-unahang pinoy band na nanalo sa MTV Asia Awards for their hit, ang huling el bimbo. grabe, sobrang minahal ko lalo na ng kuya ko ang bandang ito to the point na lahat ng album nila e meron kami at kabisado nmen until now. ganun katindi ang influence ng bandang to kaya sbrang bihira ang taong di familiar sa kanila kc kahit mga younger bros ko na 17 and 20 yrs young e idol pa din sila at very familiar sa lahat ng songs nila.
@gmacomics
i hope so meron ngang album na ilabas.. but regarding sa mga guests tonight, wla silang sinabi kung sino coz everything will be a surprise for the fans daw kaya abangan na lang natin kung meron nga silang guests o wala! sana yung mga kasabayan nila dati… hehe
