Francis Magalona confirms he has Leukemia

One of Eat Bulaga’s regular hosts, Philippines’ master rapper and actor Francis Magalona was reportedly diagnosed with Leukemia as per The Medical City confirmed yesterday, August 13, on 24 Oras’ showbiz segment, “Chika Minute” hosted by Pia Guanio in GMA 7 stating the urgency of needing blood donors for those people who would like to help.

The 43 year-old rapper-song writer and father of eight lovely children, Francis M. or popularly known by his nick name, ‘Kiko’  made an official statement in Eat Bulaga today, August,  14 declaring he’s current situation regarding the status of his health condition. Francis Magalona delivered his heart tearing message to all the fans and regular viewers of the longest running noon time show in the Philippines thru a text message as relayed by Vic Sotto.

“Sa Lahat ng dabarkads ko dito sa Eat Bulaga, miss ko na kayong lahat. Araw-araw magkakasama tayo at kayo’y naging second family ko na pati na rin ang mga viewers sa mga bahay at sa studio.

Ngayon, meron akong isang pagsubok na dapat pagdaanan at ang hiling ko lang ay ang iyong pang-unawa at suporta. I have been diagnosed with Leukemia and I am preparing for my treatment. Sa tulong ng Panginoon ay kakayanin ko po ito. Abangan niyo ang aking pagbabalik, ‘di ko lang kayo “miss”… LOVE ko kayong lahat.”

All of the staff and even his co-hosts in Eat Bulaga showed a lot of their concern to the master rapper, putting up fliers and messages written in card boards hoping and praying for the fast recovery of Francis Magalona. Friends and relatives of ‘kiko’ already organized a blood donation drive and spreading the information that any blood type will be very much accepted.

Francis Magalona is the son of the late 50’s actor, Pancho Magalona and the beautiful actress Tita Duran.  He was recognized as the master rapper of the Philippines creating memorable rap hits in the early 90’s where he started to introduce the pinoy-style rap in the country.  Francis Magalona indeed made history in the music scene as he dominated the industry with passion and sincerity on his craft. A great host and an artist, Francis Magalona is also a supportive father to his eight children including to GMA 7 contract star, Maxene Magalona and a loving wife to Pia Arroyo.

For those who would want to help Francis Magalona, all blood donations will be accommodated at the lower ground level of The Medical City under the name of the master rapper himself.
