Multi-awarded actress Judy Ann Santos finally speaks up after her long vacation break from Cuyo, Palawan where the young superstar together with her best friend, fellow actress Beth Tamayo and Director Dante Garcia, the director of her indie movie, “Ploning” revisits the island to receive a plaque of certification proving that she is now one of the “adopted daughters” of the beautiful province.
The Cuyo Island in Palawan was the main location where the indie film “Ploning” of Judy Ann Santos was shot. According to Juday, she was very much overwhelmed on how they were treated by the Cuyonons that’s why she considers the island as her “official province” now. “We went there not only for the fiesta and for the ceremony, but of course for the screening of my indie movie, “Ploning”. The soon-to-be bride of TV host and commercial model, Ryan Agoncillo also plans to help the Cuyonon residents most specially, the Cuyo Hospital. “We also went there for medical mission that we’ll be doing in the hospital. We’ve done ocular inspection and groundbreaking there. We were able to check the basic needs of the hospital and we’ve noticed the lack of medical supplies there because the island was a bit far from the city.” The pinay celebrity was then asked about her reaction to the result presented recently by the Supreme Court rejecting her appeal to the tax evasion case that was charged on her by the Bureau of Internal Revenue. “I haven’t talked to my lawyers yet”, said Judy Ann Santos. ”But I’ll be having a meeting with them later tonight. I’ll be praying that hopefully, this will be over and whatever the verdict of the Supreme Court will be, I’ll be accepting it wholeheartedly and I’ll be respecting their opinion with regards on my case.” Judy Ann also added that she never turns her back in any of her problems ever since.
The award-winning actress was not neither surprised nor shocked when she heard that her appeal was junked by the Supreme Court. “The case was already there, and I’m not surprised at all because it’s already been running for two years now. I guess it’ll be more surprising if they will say that my case was already been dismissed. I’ve conditioned my mind that I have to put all these things in my system that worst things would possibly happen so that I won’t be too much depressed.” The actress also pointed out that she really has her own accountant ever since. She even expressed how her mother, Mommy Carol was deeply affected by the case she’s been into. Judy Ann Santos wishes that her case would be resolve so that her mom would eventually get peace of mind.
Although Judy Ann Santos faces difficulties right now regarding her tax evasion case, Juday at the same time celebrates with happiness as her indie film, “Ploning” was the one chosen to be the Philippine’s official entry to the prestigious 2009 Oscar Award’s best foreign language film category. “Ploning”, a film by Panorama Pictures Co. was directed by Judy Ann and Ryan’s good friend, Dante Garcia beating other local entries, Caregiver by star cinema, Tribu and Endo (both indie films). The movie, “Ploning” of Judy Ann Santos will also be having international screenings this September in SA Texas, LA and SF California.

@Sonnet

@kengkay
indie movies talaga usually ang nakakapasok sa ganito. Prof ko nung college ung isa sa 5 committee na pumili ng Ploning to represent our country! hehe.. Proud to be Noypi!
