Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 4th Gala Night

It was a night full of tension to all the scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. This was the very first time that the show featured the Gala performance of all the scholars and at the same time, announcing the bottom four for this week.

“Duets” was the theme for the 4^th gala night performance of the Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 scholars from which they had the chance to choose anyone of their choice. Apple Abarquez and Van Pojas was the first tandem to perform on stage with their rendition of Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin’s “Nobody wants to be lonely”. The performance was safe, according to resident judge Louie Ocampo but, for me it was totally a mess for apple who had “flat” notes when she started her first lines of the song. The other scholars who received positive reactions from the jury were Laarni Losala and Iñaki Salvador with their own interpretation of “Kung Ako na lang Sana” of Bituin Escalante which Jaimie Rivera, another resident judge was able to appreciate and thought that it was a very good performance. Bunny Malunda and Christian Alvear sang “Ain’t No Mountain High” was also praised by Mr. Gerard Salonga, who enjoyed the whole performance of the two while, Zhel Garcia and Jay Bugayan a.k.a. Bugoy amazed Mr. Salonga for singing “If I Ain’t Got You” of Alicia Keys and Usher. (Gerard Salonga was known to be franked and meticulous, congratulations scholars!)

The crowd gets wilder when Taiwanese boy band Wu Chun and Calvin Chen of Fahrenheit performed their song “ Xin Li You Shu” (In our Hearts We Know) as part of their koreanovela “Romantic Princess” Asia tour.

On the other hand, the unexpected announcement of the scholars who are under probation happened on the same night in which the lovers inside the academy, Bea and Miguel were the first duo to be placed in the bottom four. The other pair who joined them was Cris Pastor and Hansen Nichols who also got the lowest grade for their performance of “Burn” by Tina Arena. The very fortunate Cris was saved by the mentors’ decision while Hansen was saved by his fellow scholars thru individual voting procedure.

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 gets more exciting for this week, now that real life sweethearts Bea Muñoz and Miguel Mendoza are in a deep trouble for being in the bottom two in which only one of them will have the chance to stay inside the academy. Will it be Miguel or will it be Bea? Which of two deserves to be called as Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 winner? Vote now for your favorite scholar!
