Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 7th Gala Night
It was a very entertaining yet tensional face offs for all the scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 7th Gala Night for their show stopping performances. The whole PDA Hall was filled with intense emotions of all the audience who’ve watched the entire presentation of their own bets in the competition. But unfortunately, things went wrong for honorary scholar Poy, who missed her task of bagging this week’s “Star Scholar” title.
Although Poy’s groovy performance of Envougue’s “Free Your Mind” received positive feedbacks from the resident jurors made up of Mr. Louie Ocampo, Ivy Violan and Jimmy Bondoc, her versatility was not that enough to beat the Head master’s list of ten. Consistent “Star Scholar” Liezel Garcia once again proved that she still holds the status among the rest with her interpretation of Beyonce’s “Listen” while her opponent that night Laarni Losala showed a lot of great vocal prowess for her own rendition of April Boy Regino’s “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin” featured her good voice quality and texture as commented by the jurors. Unfortunately for Laarni, it was Liezel’s performance that topped the judges’ votes which hailed her as the “Star Scholar” of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 7th Gala Night that put Laarni into deep trouble for being automatically included in the bottom five.
Even though Laarni was not that lucky to beat Liezel’s performance, the “Independent Woman” of Sultan Kudarat was still able to impress the judges and the audience with her face off to honorary scholar Poy as the duo sang Jennifer Hudson’s remarkable song, “And I Am Telling You” as their task for the 7th Gala Performance Night. Both scholars showed their powerful voices, but it was Laarni’s exceptional vocal style and great belting performance stood up against Poy.
Five Scholars went under the probationary list after beating by their opponents that night and that includes Laarni Loasala, Apple Abarquez, Van Pojas, Bunny Malunda and Miguel Mendoza. Among these scholars, the luckiest one that was saved by the mentors was Bunny (I wonder why her? Hmmm…I smell favoritism folks!) leaving the four other remaining scholars in tensional moods.
Whose dream will continue to soar these coming weeks? Who among these four probationary scholars will be saved by their co-scholars and whose journey will come to an end? Find out more by catching another intense episode of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 on Monday after My Girl.

i think i have to give it to liezel. she sang “listen” exceptionally. her voice is powerful yet soothing. i bet she’ll be the next PDA grand champion.

I seldom watch the show because it airs late already but in those few times na napanood ko, I noticed one of the students, Bunny or is it bunnie, would always cry. Bakit parang masyado atang ma-drama ang batang to? I just noticed hehe:)

I love the show but the time slot here in KSA is too late 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM. Please adjust the time to 10:00 to 11:00 PM. I do like the powerful voice of Laarni. She has the guts and the extra ordiary talent. She can coquer the world just like Charice. More power Laarni.

hi there dudes! thanks for all your comments here in our site. anyway,
@ edelweiza, i also believe in Liezel’s talent but I’m also having doubts right now if she can do other styles in singing, in short, versatility that is one of the important key especially in the industry of music.
@ Mang Badoy and gmacomics
i also agree about your observation regarding the “smoothness” of Liezel’s voice, but i guess, she still need to have much training for her craft.
@Rudy Romualdo
Laarni is one of the toughest contestants of PDA, she can definitely belt out and even out sang the rest of the scholars. i think Laarni together with Bugoy and Liezel are the top three contenders that will battle for the finale of this search. i also want to inform you that we are not in the right position to suggest about the schedule of PDA there in KSA, but if ever we will be given an opportunity by the network to suggest about the schedule, we will gladly inform you.thanks so much by the way!
@miah
i’ll check first my schedule if I’m available! but thanks too for informing me! hehe…
enjoy watching Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2!

I agree with the observation on Liezel’s voice. Pero hindi naman mahihirapan si POy na habulin yan kasi equally talented naman siya. I just find it ironic na ngayon ginawa nilang honorary scholar si Poy eh dati hindi nila pinansin. Kailangan lang pala ni Poy eh ang make over para mapansin na siya finally.

@callcentergal
yup, i agree looks like kaya nga ni poy na humabol from Liezel and the other scholars , kaya lang as we all know kapag mga ganitong klaseng talent search here in pinas, they always look first for ‘pleasing personality’ para daw mas madali mabenta sa public. Yun bang ’salable’ as they call it. complete packaging of an artista kumbaga..
