Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 8th Gala and Probation Night
An intense, emotional and nerve wracking Saturday had passed for the three probationary scholars Apple Abarquez, Laarni Losala and Miguel Mendoza of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 8th Gala and Probation Night at the PDA Hall. Family’s, friends and fans gathered together to give their full support for their own bets, but one of the probationary scholars has to say goodbye to leave the Academy and that is, Apple.
Majority of the votes from the viewing public were in favored of Laarni Losala as she gathered 72.74 of the total percentage of text votes while Miguel Mendoza garnered 13.96 percentage leaving the remaining 13.30 percent of text votes to Apple Abarquez. The “Different Couples’ Daughter” from Cebu City sang her last PDA performance with tears, “Sweet Love” as part of the Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 theme of the week, the “Mentors’ Choice Night”.
On the other hand, Jay “Bugoy” Bugayon’s interpretation of “As” by George Michael received a lot of positive reactions and comments from the jurors consisting of resident judge Louie Ocampo with guest jurors Leah Navarro and Jim Paredes that hailed him as the ‘star scholar’ of the night beating consistent ‘star scholar’ Liezel Garcia who performed Emotions’ “Best Of My Love”. Honorary Scholar Poy once again failed to make it as the ‘star scholar’ but was lucky enough to be part of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 top three scholars of the night with Bugoy and Liezel. But a part of the night’s gala performances, two scholars made a very effective musical number and that is Poy and Bugoy’s duet of “Magkasuyo Buong Gabi” who earned a lot of praises from the jurors.
Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Scholars went under a lot of pressure too last week as they surpasses their Midterm exam with the mentors of the Academy. Even though, she was not able to defend her title as the ‘star scholar’ of the night, Liezel Garcia still made it to be the top scholar earning the highest grade of 9.10 as the result of their four mid-term examinations that even saved her for being under probation this week. Unfortunately for Bunny Malunda, who had the lowest total of grades from the midterm exam were automatically included in the bottom four this week which also means, failing the chance to be save by her co-scholars and mentors. Joining Bunny in the bottom were Hansen Nichols, and last weeks’ probationary scholars, Miguel Mendoza and Laarni Losala.
Who among Laarni, Miguel and Sen will be save by the mentors and their fellow scholars now that Bunny looses her chance of having the possibility to be save by those? Which of them deserves to stay inside the academy? Was the decision of the jurors fair enough to include them in the bottom four? Let’s find out this week whose’ who? i was surprised that laarni got the highest vote… pero ayoko talaga sya matanggal kasi she’s putting up a good fight, akala ko nga si miguel matatanggal, hahaha…

well wifeybee, ibig sabihin nyan malakas ang following ni laarni lalo na sa masa. sana lang marealize nya na kailangan nyang kontrolin paminsan minsa ang emotions nya kasi yun ang nagiging negative comment sa kanya ng mga viewers…di ba nga, mas maganda na talented ka na, maganda pa ang work attitude mo…
si apple ok rin sana cia kaya lang mas naging ok yung kanta nya nung na-eliminate siya kaysa nung actual performance.

Did you see how Liezel pouted and make simangot last Saturday when Poy was called in the TOP 3 scholars of the night?That is just not a good attitude of someone who started from scratch, right?

hay nku.. ang saya ko talaga laarni got the highest vote.. natural syang magaling at lalo pang gumaling dahil sa PDA.. Magaling na sya plus natural woman pa.. Grabe din ang stage presence nya.. Sobrang galing.. kakaiba ang boses nya”

with the present mentors being so bias (except for Director Joey) at the expense of Laarni, they’l surely not save her. and besides kumita sila (abs-cbn/pda) sa last voting because of Laarni. kaya malamang kikita na naman sila this week dahil madami pa rin ang magboboto for her because she’s a scholar to beat. kaya lang baka naman integredad ng abs ang masasacrifice dito if they continue making favorites and cud not see what is real talent is all about..

i agree, but actually i thought miguel got the majority of the votes considering his status in life. but honestly, i was so happy for laarni, she really deserves to be saved and she’s definitely hard to beat in this competition.

yup you’re right, madami talaga sumusuporta sa kanya, and sa nakikita ko ngayon, Laarni changed a lot compared before na sobrang sensitive. She made a big adjustment for her co-scholars.

thanks dude for posting your comment here at chizmosa lounge. anyway, medyo di ko nakita ung pagsimangot ni Liezel when poy was called to be part of the top 3. but, i saw the “basahan issue” on youtube, i was so disappointed on her being so irritated to Laarni that she even cried in the bathroom for no deep reason at all. it was really ‘mababaw’ na bagay lang and sinumbong pa niya kay cris na medyo naiba na ang pagka kwento niya. i guess, lahat nman sila sa loob e merong mga kanya-kanyang flaws ang dapat lang, wag na masyado palakihin ang mga issues esp kapag non sense things.

Laarni is transforming each and every gala performances and that is indeed a big plus to her,malaki na ang improvement niya, di katulad ng ibang kasamahan nia na parang walang changes or improvements when it comes to musicality.

direk joey mentioned last midterm week nila that she really don’t like Laarni ever since.i also sense that mentors will never save her kc nga meron din silang mga kanya-kanyang favorites sa loob esp now that miguel and sen were the other scholars included in the bottom 4,they already saved bunny before and miguel so i guess, they will save sen this time and miguel might be save by his co-scholars. parang nakakapanghinayang lang yung effort ng isang so-called ’scholar’ nila if they cannot appreciate those improvements and perseverance of that particular person. ABS-CBN indeed earned a lot from the recent expulsion night most of those votes came from abroad pa. alam mo na, business nila to’ so it means, madami din silang nalolokong mga tao.hehe peace!

ok dn talaga c bugoy, he’s one of my bet to be on the top 6 and finals night ng PDA, he could also be the grand star dreamer this year, kaya lang last gala night parang wala akong naintindihan sa wordings ng song niya, it’s like he’s mouth was full of rice, malamang nabusog siya after niya kumanta!hehe…but really, bugoy is definitely one of the best!i like his personality!

Gusto ko si laarni ang maging Pinoy Dream Academy, maganda kasi ang boses kaso ang mga mentors puro negative na tingin nila kay laarni, kahit nanonood lang ako sa T.V naaawa ako sa kanya, at sna maging patas ang laban, kasi sa nakikita ko meron favoritism ang mga mentors. kamukha na lang ni bunny kung titignan natin quality ng bosis niya wala na talga pagasa, pro pilit pa sine save ng mga mentors, inbes na si laarni ang i save dahil marami pa siya maipapakita galing, alam natin naging mahina si laarni sa kanyang sarili, but now she’s doing everything… SANA SA MGA MENTORS MAGING PATAS ANG LABAN… wala FAVORITISM… para maging maganda ang show ninyo…

yup, we have the same observation about the ‘favoritism’ inside the academy. last night, the mentors saved Laarni this time and one their reasons was they’ve already saved Miguel and Sen before and while they don’t even have a choice to save Bunny this time that’s why they chose Laarni. Parang medyo questionable lang yung mga reasons nila, Mr. C even added that they still need Laarni in the competition kc nga daw she’s one of the ’scholar to beat’ meaning, para mas my spice ang laban inside the academy.

Naku si Bugoy kailangan dibdibin ang pronunciation classes kung meron man, medyo hindi na aarticulate yung mga sounds kahit sa mismong r&b songs na sobrang kabisado na nya ang atake…
Yung issue kay liezel naku mahirap yan kung totoo. Lahat sila pare pareho pa rin ng level kaya wala dapat mag-inggitan.
BTW, may award nga pala ako for chizmosalounge. =) Just check my blog for details.

i do agree with all of you.. but between Miguel and Sen.. I’d choose Miguel. He is a musician. His being quiet and well mannered nature should not be held against him. Take Hadji Alejandro, Basil Valdez and Anthony Castello.. they performed and sang songs they wanted the public to hear they wanted themheard.. the mentors shouldn’t change a person’s person to make him a saleable commodity. they told the scholars to magpakatotoo but the moment Laarni cries because of frustration.. she’s over reacting.. Miguel for just what he is.. he is not totoo.. whta’s totoo to these mentors.. the ones they have in their minds for these hapless people.. Let’s see what they say about Cris carrying on.. she’s worse than laarni when it comes to reaction.

thanks for posting your comment! well, i also like miguel’s attitude inside the academy.napaka humble niya compared to the other guys there,i agree that Miguel is just being true to himself,soft spoken siya and tahimik lang talaga. about the mentors in PDA naman, kanya-kanyang favorites sila sa mga scholars, i guess, they much preferred ‘good looks’ over real ‘talent’ they’re also unfair when it comes to distribution of songs in each scholars, they’re giving their favorite scholars songs that are on their music genre (sometimes super easy pa) just to be save on being under probi.

Masama ang loob ni Liezel at hindi na xa makabalik sa pagiging top scholar…. E ano naman kasi, nakakasawa ang voice nya, nagustuhan ko lang xa sa kanta nya na dance with my father… the next songs, wala na….
