Pinoy Idol says goodbye to Penelope
It was another big shocking Sunday night for all the viewers of GMA-7’s reality talent search, Pinoy Idol. Simply because, another very talented finalist of the show was booted out and that is, none other than Penelope.
The 16-year old diva in the making from Batangas was the latest addition to the past talented idol hopefuls like Roby Navarro who were also eliminated by having the least number of text votes from the public. Penelope sang her last piece, “Weak” as part of the Pinoy Idol theme “Rakrakan Night” last Saturday where in, the band that stands as her mentor was Freestyle who made the revival of the song she chose. Other Pinoy Idol hopefuls who joined Penelope in the bottom group were Warren Antig of Baguio and Kid Camaya of Quezon City. Kid was the first one to be called as “safe” leaving Penelope and Warren in deep tension. Penelope got so emotional when Raymond Guttierez announced that she has to say goodbye to the rest remaining idol finalists. The two judges, Ogie Alcasid and Jolina Magdangal gave Penelope a standing ovation while singing her last song.
I got so disappointed to the results of Pinoy Idol, honestly because, those people who had these great potentials of being a singer were the first one to leave the show. Before, it was Roby Navarro who was my bet to win the title. Unexpectedly, he was voted out. It’s really true that history repeats itself when Penelope was also eliminated instead of Warren Antig, Daryl Celis or even Gretchen Espina who were all having just so-so voices that even a 10 year old kid can do out sang them yet, they are still there in the competition! I’ve just noticed that this girl, Gretchen was never included in the bottom list ever since the show started. Is it because of her very influential family? (F.Y.I. peeps, her dad is currently a governor, and so what do we expect? hmm…politics my friend!) The judges of the show were pleasing the public to vote wisely but I guess, this talent search is really not about looking for the best talent in the country but, it’s a competition of popularity, money and influence.
Well, this just proved that here in our country, vote buying is really in the blood of politicians, influential people can buy a persons’ future. I will not be surprised if Gretchen Espina will be the first “Pera Idol” oh! I mean, the very first Pinoy Idol! Haha Peace out guys…

anyway, talking about Pinoy Idol, I’ve watched one of the interviews of the three judges weeks ago and they were asked about the voting procedure of the show (that was after Robby Navarro’s shocking exit) coz’ a lot of people were always having a full shock and even surprised every time that they are conducting the elimination night. they told the press people that It is the “ruling” of Fremantle Media .All votes should be coming from the viewing public only,they cannot change the rule that fremantle had instructed them.That’s why they called it as Pinoy Idol. Judges has no power when it comes to the voting results but,as we can see here in our country,only the powerful ones and the rich ones can dominate the whole public(money matters a lot!).Lucky are those contestants that are born with a golden spoon like Gretchen.I guess,PI should have at least think from the very start of the show that they would not include people like her who had an advantage considering that this kind of talent search is all about text votes from the public.

PENELOPE BEING BOOTED OUT IS A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. SHE IS THE BEST!!!! I AM A CERTIFIED KAPUSO FAN, BUT AFTER THE RESULT NIGHT I CAN’T HELP , BUT TO QUESTION THE CREDIBILITY OF THE SHOW.
ISN’T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE A SEARCH FOR THE BEST SINGER AND THE BEST TALENT, NOT THE SEARCH FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS THE MOST MONEY OR WEALTH????
PLEASE DO SOMETHING… WE NEED REAL TALENT AND PENELOPE HAS IT. SHE MAY NOT HAVE THE MONEY, BUT SHE GOT THE TALENT. I WILL BE DELIGHTED TO SEE PENELOPE BACK. I’M SURE A LOT OF US WILL.
TO GMA7 MANAGEMENT PARTICULARLY TO PINOY IDOL STAFF – PLEASE MAKE WISE DECISIONS AND IMPLEMENT REASONABLE INTERVENTIONS TO MAKE THIS SHOW WORTH WATCHING FOR.

I haven’t really watched the show, but I was able to catch a few episodes during the start of the season. I find Penelope as one of the more interesting ones. She reminds me of someone. Anyway, this isn’t the first time this has happened. I think it has become on other reality shows as well. *sigh*

Havent u noticed guys? Tingnan nio ang logo ng PinoyIdol..merung curve sa baba dba na para bang malungkot kung mpapansin nio? Hay naku..yan ang sign! Sign yan na dpat tlaga malungkot mga tao behind dat dahil isang npakalaking FAILURE ang 1st PinoyIdol…at malungkot tau dhl nwala na ang mga pinakamagagaling sa mga contestants..gudlak nlang tlaga,e2 ang ranking ko..JayAnn to be d winner,den Ram, Kid, Gretchen, Daryl..and last ang basurang Warren.

Di din ako makapaniwala na si Penelope ang na vote out eh… Andyan naman si Daryl da ba? I mean kung talent rin lang pag uusapan penelope deserves to win as the first “Pinoy Idol”. Magbibigti talaga ako pag si Daryl pa ang nanalo! As the judges said, yung mananalo ang magiging representative natin para lumaban sa iba pang competition outside the country, can you send a guy na face lang ang pwedeng i-present? This is singing contest sana sa star struck na lang sya sumali !! I’m sorry sa mga fans nya pero I’m just trying to tell the truth and nothing but the truth!!

yeah,that’s very true about warren’s performance every gala night that’s why last sunday, he was finally booted out.(actually meron nga issue behind it share ko lang ng konte to all of you guys this is before penelope’s exit on PI.)
somebody spread the tip that warren spent more or less than P30 thou for his votes just to assure he will be ‘saved’ for the elimination night.( for sure his whole family and friends do the texting brigade for him.) he never thought that penelope will also be joining him in the bottom 3 and so, when the results were announced,he was guilty when penelope was the one leaving the competition,knowing that penelope is one of the toughest idol contestants to grab the title as Pinoy Idol. he then whispered to Raymond Guttierez and requested that in the next elimination night,he’s pleasing the staff to eliminate him instead of the other finalists.and that’s what happened last sunday.well, i just don’t know if this issue is really true. Juicy huh?!

maybe gma 7 now realized what kind of show they had adopted. Philippines is definitely far from the wide range of voting system from US, we cannot copy the voting procedure here knowing that this is one of the corrupt countries in the world!

who reminds you of penelope?may i know?hehe… kidding aside,penelope is the right person to be hailed as Pinoy Idol, she’s the best and no doubt about it. this kind of talent search reminds me of the days that i was still active in auditioning various singing competitions,( i started singing at the age of 11) that’s why until now, i’m still an avid viewer of these kind of searches but after all those experiences that i’ve encountered, i must say that in all talent search, we cannot deny that there’s always “favoritism”. and believe me, a lot of aspiring singers are very much aware of that. just wanna share this guys to you…thanks again for posting! enjoy reading!

Ang last na Araneta ata ng Shete eh ung 3rd Season ng PPS kung san c Maricris ang nanalo db? Taz ang Starstruck sa Marikina nlang ang finale,taz ung Celeb Duet eh sa Studio nlang..hahaha! Tipid tlaga..pati ung screen sa stage ng PI eh kalahati lng ata sa screen ng PDA at PBB..ewww! Poor? Interesting ang mggng Finale,ang lupet ng Pyro sa PBB at PDA dba?ung mga SPARKS pg tpos n ung show.. Tingnan ntn kng malelevelan ng PI..pati confeti..bwahahaha!

The grand showdown of PI will be on saturday,looks like a lot of people were already expecting that the governor’s unica hija will be one of the top 3 finalists. actually, i’m expecting it too coz’ it’s a bit obvious naman. SMX convention has 10,000 seats. i guess they chose that venue because they knew that they cannot fill in araneta or marikina sports center of audiences either.

i heard a latest news about gretchen espina, she was interviewed by a certain reporter and asked if she’s aware na family lang nia ang bumoboto sa kanya. she confidently answered the reporter na, “di ko kailangan magmakaawa sa mga tao para lang sabihing may talent nman ako noh!” that’s the exact words she says kaya lalo ako nayabangan sa kanya. well, to think naman na alam niya sa sarili niya na it’s only her family and friends ang talagang bumoboto sa kanya at plus yung mga taong binibigyan ng ‘load’ ng dad niya ang talagng bumoboto sa kanya. she also added that people do like her and believed in her talent that’s why she’s still there at the competition and she deserves daw to be in the top 3.
anyway, we will never be surprised if gretchen will be the winner on sunday coz it’s very predictable naman e.
