First Pinoy Idol Winner is Gretchen Espina!
I was absolutely right about my inklings; the very first Pinoy Idol Winner is Gretchen Espina, the Governor’s daughter from Biliran. It was indeed a tremendous victory for all the family members and supporters of this girl born with a golden spoon as GMA 7’s reality talent search, Pinoy Idol held its final results night last Sunday, August 17, at the SMX Mall of Asia as they declared Gretchen Espina as the very first Pinoy Idol.
Family members, supporters and followers of the final three Idol hopefuls, Jayann Bautista, Gretchen Espina and Ram Chavez were all present at the finals venue to cheer and to show their undying support for their bets. Loud voices were heard within the whole vicinity chanting the names of their idol contestant. OPM Bands Pupil, Itchyworms, Rivermaya and south border collaborated and showed their participation by performing their signature songs and latest singles to the big night of Pinoy Idol.
The ‘rakista’ idol hopeful, Ram Chavez was the first one who got eliminated as Pinoy Idol Host, Richard Guttierez announced that this idol aspirant from Makati City had the least number of text votes received from the viewing public leaving the final battle reserved between the two ladies, Jay Ann Bautista and Gretchen Espina. The three Pinoy Idol judges, Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal and Wyngard Tracy extended their congratulatory remarks for the two remaining finalists, and again appealed to the public that who ever wins the title should be supported by the whole nation. (it’s seems that they already knew whose gonna’ win that night! haha…)
Wearing their glamorous white gowns, Jayann Bautista and Gretchen Espina hold hands together as they wait for the final announcement of the winner. When Pinoy Idol host, Raymond Guttierez finally announced that the Pinoy Idol winner is Gretchen Espina, it was so obvious that the crowd inside the SMX venue was still cheering for the pride of Pampanga, Jayann Bautista. I also observed that Jayann was so upset and dismayed for the result of the competition. Before the host made the announcement, you can see the expression of Jayann nodding her head as if she knew what name was going to be proclaimed. The Pinoy Idol judges were evidently disappointed showing Ogie and Jolinas’ face not quite proud of Gretchen’s triumph. I could say that Pinoy Idol was really so disappointing ever since the show started! (Well, I’ve already said this line before!). Let’s accept that, okay, Gretchen Espina has a also a talent in singing, but if you’ll try to compare this so-called ‘singing ability’ of this girl to the singers nowadays who were products of singing competitions before like Sarah Geronimo, Jonalyn Viray or even the 16-year old Charice Pempengco, this very first Pinoy Idol will be like an amateur contestant joining a fiesta singing competition in a barangay! (Sorry for the word folks, can’t help to compare!)
GMA 7 should have at least realized all this crap about Pinoy Idol. Gretchen Espina should also be thankful to God that she was blessed with a wealthy kind of living in this world. A total of P5.7 Million of prizes was given to the hands of this rich lady whose already been blessed with a comfortable lifestyle. I just wish that she’ll prove the public that she really deserves this title, enough to hear pleasantly, the very first Pinoy Idol winner is Gretchen Espina!

Kawawa naman si Mau Marcelo, it’s like she never won at all kasi GMA wouldn’t acknowledge ABC5’s Phil Idol. If you were to choose between Gretchen and Mau, who would it be?

she told the press on her recent interviews that she’ll do her best para maging “karapat-dapat” to all the people who doesn’t believe in her talent… SANA nga, but i guess, she’ll have to eat a lot of ‘ginger’ to be able to reach that goal she wanted to prove. thanks for posting!

tlgang ganyan lang ang life minsan khit ndi tau boto sa nanalo wala na rin taung magawa kc cguro meron clang nakita ke ms.espina na ndi natin napansin……… anu kaya yon noh? ang hirap mag-isip…. tingnan mo na lang ang nangyari sa case ni charice pempengco, tlagang super todo bigay xa sa singing contest ng abs when she was 13,pero ndi nman xa ang napili ng horado, tapos ngeon medyo umangat naman ng konte ang career nya sa napili ng horado b4, i mean pang international pala ang talent nya(correct me if i am wrong) (ndi nya ako fan)parng naisip ko lng xang maging example …….. kaya if you bet someone who’s do you think na much deserving to ms. espina(of pinoy idol),dont worry, who knows diba baka maangatan pa nya ang career ng nanalo sooner or later, kaya lang binahagian naman sna tau ng napanalunan(malaking pera yon ah)…………….heeeeheee…….peace…..and thanks 。。。。。。。。。。

naging trend na kasi ang text voting sa halos lahat ng contest. sabagay, kailangan talaga ang opinyon ng publiko, hindi lang ng judges. kasi ang publiko naman ang tatangkilik sa mga nananalo, hindi yung mga judges lang.

nanonood ako pero di ako bumuboto kasi medyo mahal. kahit sabihing piso lang ang text, ang piso ay piso lalo na sa panahon ngayon. kung tunay ngang publiko ang nagdeklara kay espinang panalo dapat pinayagan din nila ang pagboto sa landline. pinagkakitaan lang nila at ng mga cellphone company ang show.

charice pempengco landed 3rd place on that certain search in ABS, malakas tlg kc ung rival niya na c sam concepcion, medyo may kaya din kc sa buhay yun that’s why di na nakakapag taka kung cia ang nanalo. well, same as what happened in PI, gretchen came from a very influential family, di rin nakakapagtaka kung cia ang nanalo. to think na di naman ganun kagaling talaga kumanta.

ay naku, nde naman public ang bumoto sa kanya e, aminin na natin na pamilya lang tlg nia ang sumoporta sa kanya. actually, sabi niya before sa isang interview niya her dad can really produce her own album, ang problema nga lang, cnu daw ang bibili kc wala pa ciang exposure on tv, di cia kilala ng publiko kaya she tried here in PI. ang labanan naman kc d2 is txt votes lng tlg dats why lamang n lamang cia.

well for me, kung gagawa ulit ang GMA ng ganitong klase ng contest, i think it’s better not to get PI na lang kc ang policy tlg ng fremantle like sa American Idol, tao ang boboto, thru landline. since d2 kc saatin e mas ginagamit at mas mura ang text sa cellphone, un ang ginawa nilang way to vote. di kc pwedeng ibahin ang rulings ng fremantle since kanila ung rights ng show e…

Tama ang marami di talaga deserving manalo yun gretchen,kc i dont see anything unique s voice nya,compared to mau marcelo the 1st idol,at kung voice talaga usapan marami p syang kakaining bigas!She wins but people thinks shes a loser,Laarni ng PDA e2 totoong winner,i dont like her face but with voice its a different story.

hoy bruha ka na gretchen kang dako…….u know wat.?ur not really dcerving 2 be the winner…..as if ur father hindi namigay ng load na tig 200.oo sa mga taong nanghihingi ng load para lang iboto ka.uwata day,usa ko sa natagaan ug lod..buy dont u wory kay ala tka giboto.kinurakot rman gni na sa imu amahan ang kwarta na iya gipanghatag para lang iboto ka……..hiyay kahilas nimung dako.as if angayan pod uroy ka mukanta,,,,,,,and 4 ur an4mation,,…..kad2 hinngad2 ka ug la naval highschool,na the school wer u came from..ala ka kabati na gikanchawan ka sa mga studentsss…….(including me….)hehe..thanks nlang pid na waray ninyo ipapatay si jayann pra mudog lang ka,,ing ana bya na ang batasan sa inyo pamilya…parapamatay…….
